Kay Sproat Chorao '54 Noted children's book illustator and author Kay Chorao has enhanced and enriched the lives of children since her first book was published in in the 1960s. Her beautiful illustrations catch the imaginations of children and adults. Her drawings are filled with wonderful details and caring, delightful characters who help illustrate important lessons learned as children grow up. Her books are of joy and discovery and learning to see and be sensitive, and to care and share and love. Some of her books include Pig and Crow, Grayboy, The Baby's Lap Book, Here Comes Kate and D is for Drums. |
Nuclear disarmament educator, author, activist and documentary film producer Kathleen is an articulate professional who for over 20 years has used her knowledge and communication skills to immerse students in understanding and thinking critically about nuclear issues and the dangers of nuclear proliferation. Passionate about thinking and acting globally, Kathleen has never wavered from her mission. The Coordinator of the Nuclear Weapons Education and Action Project at Educators for Social Responsibility Metropolitan Area, NYC, Kathleen has worked with the United Nations' Department for Disarmament Affairs as curriculum coordinator. She is the producer of The Last Atomic Bomb, a film about the Nagasaki legacy. |
