"The formula for success is simple:
practice and concentration,
then more practice and more concentration."

About the coach...
Marti Hardy, a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, B.A. and The University of Michigan, M.A. in Romance Language and Linguistics, has spent the last twenty five years at Laurel School teaching Upper School Spanish. In addition, she has served as Director of Service Learning, Senior Class Dean and Chair of the World Language Department. Having coached swimming at Laurel in the 80's, Marti decided to continue her passion for athletics by coaching the golf team.
Her interest and dedication to the game of golf goes back to her childhood when she played golf weekly with her father at Manakiki and with her husband while in graduate school at Michigan. She has played golf for the past thirty years at Canterbury Golf Club where she won the Club Championship in 1984, 1985 and 1989. She currently plays on the Canterbury Women's Golf Team and loves to compete in District Competitions.
She is excited to teach our golfers the importance of playing golf as a lifetime sport, making sure they understand the fundamentals and rules of the game, practice purposefully and demonstrate strong mental toughness as well as good sportsmanship. She is looking forward to taking on the challenge of our new Independent Golf League, comprised of Laurel, Hathaway Brown, Beaumont, Regina, Magnificat, NDCL, Walsh Jesuit, St. Joseph's Academy and Padua.
