About the coach…

David Stoehr grew up playing volleyball at Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where Men's Volleyball is a prominent Spring sport. During his Junior and Senior seasons the team qualified for the state tournament and finished 5th and 3rd respectively in the state of Pennsylvania. David is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where his play and love of the game of volleyball continued with the Men's Club team as a player/coach.

After graduation, David moved to Cleveland to begin his professional IT career with Progressive Insurance and is currently employed at Easy2 Technologies as Manager, Application Development. David continued playing in USVBA tournaments and local leagues with friends where he met the founders and current directors of the Eastside Cleveland Juniors USVBA Junior Olympic Club for which he has coached since 1999, predominately at the 17/18 age group. Junior Olympics provide an opportunity for talented players to refine their skills and compete at a National level so they can showcase their skills in hopes of playing on the collegiate level.  David has worked with numerous Northeast Ohio high school players that have gone on to play volleyball at the collegiate level.

David and his coaching staff return to Laurel this Fall with a game plan to help continue the turnaround and add to the success the Laurel Volleyball program has experienced in recent years under his guidance and return it to its competitive roots.  Laurel’s varsity team returns all six starters from last season, who all now have at least one season of varsity experience.  That experience has fostered an understanding of what it takes to be competitive and the level of dedication it takes to remain at that competitive level.  The Gators have high expectations for this season and will settle for nothing less.

David resides in Wickliffe, Ohio with his wife Daniele, son Gabriel and daughter Annabella.
