About the coach…
David Meyer came to Laurel School in 2001 from Buffalo, NY where he was a graduate of Canisius College. In Buffalo he taught physical education as well as coached basketball, soccer, and softball at a variety of levels. David currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director, Head Women's Basketball Coach, and Project Adventure Coordinator, and Pre-Primary Physical Education Teacher at Laurel School.
While in Buffalo, David coached basketball for five years at The Park School, and helped to establish them as one of the top teams in their league. This year will mark his tenth year as head woman's basketball coach at Laurel School. During his tenure at Laurel, David has guided the gators to an impressive 131-74 record. During the 2010-11 season, the gators finished with a regular season record of 12-7. Coach Meyer is looking forward to a challenging 2011-2012 season as he has high expectations for his team with a talented group of freshmen coming in.
David is also a veteran of the armed forces after serving six years in the Army. He holds an AFAA personal trainer certificate and has worked as a personal trainer for 6 years in the Buffalo area. His cliental have included high school, college, and professional athletes. He now resides on Cleveland's west side with his wife Natalie, son Samuel, and daughter Jordyn.
