Version 2.0
By January 2009, we began to feel as if a fresh perspective on the strategic plan - and the 6 guiding vision elements - would enable us to take our pursuit of those vision elements "to the next level."
Central to the operating logic of version 2.0 is the "force-field" diagram below. If you have PowerPoint on your computer, you can click here to bring up a slide show that brings up each point one at a time. Each item on the diagram needs the time and attention of a variety of people in the school on an on-going basis. Rather than conceiving of each item as a "strategic initiative", a set of tasks to be accomplished, we chose to see them as identifying on-going areas of work that "resonated" for different groups of people within the school community. For each item we identified the people for whom it resonated - whose scope of work at Laurel and/or whose personal interest or investment in that item naturally brought them into contact with it. These groups are the "resonance clusters" that we rely upon in version 2.0 to keep us moving forward in our strategic pursuit of the vision elements.
