A letter from Joan Pfeffer - Director of College Guidance
Each student's college decision is a unique journey. The path begins in the excitement of discovery and calm of reflection. The journey becomes more challenging as the girls cope with risk, competition and chance. Whatever the outcome, the lessons of the process - independence, courage and resilience - are all valuable. I love my job and one of its joys is to help each student along her journey.
Much of the journey involves practical hard work. Students who are most successful are willing to thoroughly research colleges, ask tough questions and spend the time necessary to determine which colleges meet their needs. These students know there is no "perfect" college for any student.
The College Guidance Office is committed to supporting our students and our families. Our website has been reorganized to make information readily available on line. The office has extensive resource materials you are welcome to review. I have an open door policy and encourage everyone, students and parents, to stop by or call me any time. The best results are possible when the girls, parents and the school work together as a team.
I look forward to meeting with all of you in the coming year.
