The Ohio Department of Health has issued an order that requires K-12 schools to report and notify parents/guardians and local health departments when students, teachers, staff members or coaches test positive for COVID-19.
As Laurel School encompasses children ages 18 months to Grade 12 on two campuses, we also will report any positive cases of COVID-19 within our Pre-Primary School. The order also states that parents and guardians are encouraged to report positive cases to schools. At Laurel, we require all parents, faculty and staff to report positive cases to Susan Kramer, the School Nurse, within 24 hours of being notified of a positive test result.
Each day we will update a public COVID-19 Dashboard that indicates the number of active and cumulative reported COVID-19 cases among students and employees at both the Lyman and Butler Campuses. The Dashboard also shows COVID-19 cases by Division.
In compliance with this order, the School will notify all those (families of students, faculty/staff members) in the same class/activity as the infected individual. Additionally we will notify those who have been identified as having been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive. Anyone who has been in close contact with a person with a confirmed case of COVID-19 will be required to quarantine for 14 days and to resume school via Laurel School@Home.
