Through a generous endowment gift from Frank and Virginia Judd Beam ’54, this event offers students the opportunity to create art in a wide range of media and submit it for consideration in a juried art exhibition. The Beam Invitational acknowledges the vital role that the visual arts play in the academic curriculum at Laurel. Through the exploration of the visual arts, students not only gain technical proficiency, but are encouraged to think independently, take risks and flex their creative “muscles”—skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.
This year the exhibition is appearing in a virtual format and without jurying or prizes due to the extenuating circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to return to our usual format in the future. In the meantime, please enjoy the amazing talents of our 2019-2020 Junior and Senior artists.
