Applying to Pre-Primary School

Laurel School accepts applications for our Pre-Primary School (co-ed Early Learners, Preschool, Prekindergarten and Outdoor Pre-Primary) throughout the year.

The below checklists outline the application requirements for our four Pre-Primary groups. All items must be completed before the Admissions Committee will review your application.

  • Student Screening

    • Preschool and Prekindergarten Screenings will be conducted individually during the family’s visit to Laurel School. Children are invited to participate in age-appropriate classroom activities while parents observe the hands-on learning and fun activities they can expect from a Laurel Pre-Primary education.
    • Screenings for Preschool and Prekindergarten at Lyman Campus are scheduled most weekday mornings between 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. Please contact the Admissions Office at 216-464-0946 or admissions@LaurelSchool.org to schedule an individual screening.

    Grades K-12 Open House

    See why Laurel is the private school that knows girls best! We invite you to connect with our current students and parents, engaging faculty and dynamic staff. Laurel’s K-12 Open House includes a presentation by Head of School Ann V. Klotz and opportunities to learn more about our curriculum, special programming, the admissions process and financial assistance. Laurel’s 150-acre Butler Campus, including the 16,000-square-foot Alice Lehmann Butler Center for Fitness and Wellness, will also be open for prospective families to enjoy nature, hike the trails, visit the athletic fields and explore the Magic Tree House.     Grades 5-12 ISEE Test Prep

    Laurel School in conjunction with Rose-Marie Janesz, President of Test Preparation & Tutoring Services, will once again offer ISEE test preparation for Eighth Grade students. Hosted by Laurel, Rose-Marie Janesz will offer students the opportunity to learn how to prepare and score higher on the ISEE-Upper level test. The test preparation class is $75 and is to be paid at the door.

    Look@Laurel for Prospective Middle School (Grades 5-8) Families

    You’re invited to Look @ Laurel to discover the school that will encourage your daughter to welcome intellectual challenges, take risks, develop her voice and create a lifelong community! Prospective Fifth through Eighth Grade students and parents will learn about how Laurel puts research into action in creating an environment in which girls thrive.

    Upper School Preview for Grade 8 Families

    Current Laurel Eighth Grade students and prospective Ninth Grade students and their parents are invited to an engaging evening with presentations by Laurel’s Upper School leadership team, Department Chairs and current Upper School students. Questions will be answered about course options, athletics, arts, global learning opportunities, internships, entrepreneurship, service learning and how Laurel utilizes cutting-edge research to ensure that each girl is fulfilling her promise.

    Pre-Primary Open House

    Spend your Saturday morning with us to understand the benefits of a Laurel education for your young daughter or son. We invite you to discover how our Pre-Primary’s signature Eco!Wonder program and play-based curriculum will build on young girls’ and boys’ sense of wonder and provide the foundation for a lifetime of joyful learning.
