HoloLens and Laurel

The Call to the Heart was to fund the launch of our collaboration with Case Western Reserve University to bring HoloLens to our classrooms. HoloLens is a holographic computer and head-mounted display that produces 3-D, interactive displays. Better than virtual reality, this augmented reality technology allows the class and teacher to remain socially connected and aware of each other’s presence while interacting with technology in inspirational ways.
Benefits of HoloLens to our students:
  • Creates a unique, active, and immersive learning experience
  • Inspires transformative learning that cannot take place otherwise (ex: viewing detailed human body models)
  • Offers the opportunity for girls to learn how to create content, making use of programming and project-based learning skills
The funds raised will be used for the headsets, software, and faculty professional development.

Laurel School will be the first K-12 school in Ohio to integrate this technology into our curriculum in the 2019-2020 academic year.
