Director of Strategic Programming
Bella Patel has been at Laurel School since 2003. She spent 13 years as a First Grade teacher before moving out of the classroom to work on the Primary School Leadership Team.
While teaching First Grade, Mrs. Patel received two teaching awards and presented about curriculum at local and state conferences.
Mrs. Patel earned her B.A. from Vassar College and her M.A. from Teachers College at Columbia University. Currently, she serves as the Director of Strategic Programming and the Associate Director of the Primary School. She directs the Capstone Experience and the Passport Program, and works with the Protégé team to provide out-of-classroom and out-of-school experiences for Laurel’s students. These programs incorporate research from Laurel’s Center for Research on Girls to enhance experiential learning and deep learning that transcends the boundaries of the traditional classroom.
