Laurel Comes in First Place at the JustWrite Ohio Regional Tournament  

Laurel's inaugural JustWrite Ohio competitive writing team had an incredible day Saturday at the regional tournament at Cloverleaf High School.
Laurel's Division I team of Miako Dallas ‘26, Amelia Bravo ‘26, Eva Ko ‘25, Caroline Auerbach-Brown ‘25, Kelly Kirchner ‘25, and Claire Sheeler ‘25 came in 1st place and the Division II team of Sascha Leiken ‘25, Karma Abboud ‘24, Shaliz Bazldjoo ‘24, Jade Gladue ‘24, EJ Reindel-Swan ‘24, and Lily Blitz ‘24 came in 3rd place. Laurel came in 1st place overall and in addition, the following Laurel students took home individual awards and automatically qualified for the JustWrite State Tournament in May. 
  • Kelly Kirchner - Seventh Place, Division I
  • Caroline Auberbach-Brown - Second Place, Division I
  • Claire Sheeler - First Place, Division I 
  • Eva Ko - Poet Laureate Award, Division I
  • Karma Abboud - Second Place, Division II AND Poet Laureate Award, Division II
  • Shaliz Bazldjoo - First Place, Division II AND Poet Laureate Award, Division II
