Three Members of Indoor Track and Field Advances to States

Congratulations to Laurel's indoor track and field team for an amazing season!
Some highlights were that Raven Dallas '24 picked up Shot Put for the first time in November and threw nearly 28ft during the season! Savannah Hameed '24 competed in Shot Put where she threw a PR in almost every meet. She was also introduced to the Weight Throw this season. Savannah advanced to the Indoor State Meet on March 3 and was ranked 13th respectively in both events in D2/3. Margaret Jones '23 continues to hold the Laurel record in Shot Put. She threw a 40-2 to put her at 3rd in the State in D2/3. Margaret has signed a letter of intent to Michigan State University to throw in their track program beginning Fall 2023!

On the track, Kayla Cameron '23 led with a running career PR in the 400 at 63.48, finishing top in the State for D2/D3 and competed in the State tournament. Raelynn Sweet '23 ran the 60 and 200 this season, while Abbey Totte '23 and Alaire Bang '24 both ran the 800.

Margaret, Savannah and Kayla all went to Spire to compete at the State Tournament in early March. In Shot Put Margaret placed 5th and Savannah placed 12th. Kayla ran the 400m in 63.86 and placed 21st. Go Gators!
