Award nominations may come only from Laurel alumnae, though may be supported by members of the community at large. Members of the Distinguished Alumnae Committee, the Board of Trustees and Laurel faculty/staff are not eligible to receive the award nor to make nominations.
The more information provided about the nominee, the stronger the nomination. Ideally, a nomination includes the following:
- a letter from the nominator about the candidate’s achievements and reason for nomination
- links to any news articles or web pages highlighting the candidate’s work
- contact information for colleagues of the candidate so that the Alumnae Office may contact them for a letter of support.
If no supporting materials are provided, the Alumnae Office, to the best of its ability, will rely on information publicly available online in putting together the nomination materials.
The Alumnae Office does not inform candidates that they have been nominated.
