  • Distinguished Alumna Award

    Class Year Eligibility: The nominee must have passed her 20th Laurel Reunion year.
    Must be Living: The nominee must be living and must have attended Laurel, but need not have graduated.
    Distinguished in Her Field(s): The nominee must be distinguished in her field(s) of endeavor – professional or volunteer.
    Positive Role Model: The nominee must be a positive role model to current students.
    Living Our Mission: The nominee must represent the values articulated in the Laurel mission statement – to inspire each girl to fulfill her promise and to better the world.
  • Young Alumna of Distinction Award

    Class Year Eligibility: Alumnae who are eligible for this award, those celebrating their 20th reunion or younger, will be considered for this award only, which will be given at the discretion of each Distinguished Alumnae Committee.
    Must be Living: The nominee must be living and must have attended Laurel, but need not have graduated.
    Notable Contribution: The nominee must have made a notable contribution in her field of endeavor – professional or volunteer.
    Positive Role Model: The nominee must be a positive role model to current students.
    Living Our Mission: The nominee must represent the values articulated in the Laurel mission statement – to inspire each girl to fulfill her promise and to better the world.
    Future Eligibility: Winning this award will not preclude an alumna from receiving the Distinguished Alumna Award in the future.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award

    Any alumna nominated for the Distinguished Alumna Award, who has already celebrated her 50th reunion, will be considered for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Award nominations may come only from Laurel alumnae, though may be supported by members of the community at large. Members of the Distinguished Alumnae Committee, the Board of Trustees and Laurel faculty/staff are not eligible to receive the award nor to make nominations.

The more information provided about the nominee, the stronger the nomination. Ideally, a nomination includes the following:
  • a letter from the nominator about the candidate’s achievements and reason for nomination
  • links to any news articles or web pages highlighting the candidate’s work
  • contact information for colleagues of the candidate so that the Alumnae Office may contact them for a letter of support.
If no supporting materials are provided, the Alumnae Office, to the best of its ability, will rely on information publicly available online in putting together the nomination materials. The Alumnae Office does not inform candidates that they have been nominated.
