Julie Donahue ’79

Director of Alumnae and Communications
Ms. Donahue joined Laurel’s staff as Director of Communications in 1996, just in time to help implement plans for the School’s Centennial Celebration, never dreaming that twenty-five years later, she would serve as the staff lead for the School’s 125th Anniversary.

In 2004, she also became the Director of Alumnae, working closely with the Alumnae Board on engaging and fostering connections with the 4,000+ members of the Laurel School Alumnae Association. She particularly enjoys connecting Laurel students and young alums with older alumnae mentors. Among her favorite Laurel traditions are Song Contest, Sarah Lyman Day of Community Service and the Alumnae Big Sis/Little Sis program matching recent graduates with fellow alums at their respective colleges.

Ms. Donahue has a bachelor’s degree in history from Wellesley College. Before she came back to work at Lyman Circle, she wrote on-air promotions at WOIO-TV and wrote and produced radio commercials at Manheim Advertising. She has served on several Boards, including The Center for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, The Junior League of Cleveland, Inc., and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Cleveland Chapter.
