Favorite Class: My favorite class was my tenth grade English class with Dr. Polt. The class was so different than any other English class I have attended. The media we explored was so valuable to me. We explored topics and media focused on immigration, indigenous peoples, poetry, and black and African American life and stories. It was truly an eye opening class for me and at the end we did a final research project on anything we wanted with my final topic being Opioids in American Indian and Alaska Native Communities. I really loved this class and definitely became a better student because of it.
Favorite Laurel Thing: My favorite thing about Laurel is the interconnection between everyone who walks through the front doors. From teachers, students, and staff everyone knows each other and makes an effort to connect with each other allowing for a home-like atmosphere that you can't find anywhere else.
