Kathryn Purcell Featured in Crain’s Cleveland Business

Kathryn Purcell, Associate Head of Laurel, was recently featured in Crain's Cleveland Business where she discussed competition and growth in single-gender schools.
The article focuses on how schools have found ways to differentiate themselves in a crowded market. In the article Kathryn states that, "Schools really need to figure out who they are, what their school identity is and what differentiates them in the market." That often must go beyond academics. For example, she said, "Laurel's intentionally small size - 65 to 70 girls to a grade at the high school level - serves as a differentiator. So does the Butler Campus: 150 acres filled with a fitness center, athletic fields and an adventure course, as well as its Laurel Center for Research on Girls."
