Kaitlyn Ernst '24 Qualifies for International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)

Congratulations to Kaitlyn Ernst '24, who has qualified to attend the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Atlanta in May. 
She presented her research, which investigates how a novel molecule derived from oats interacts with the immune system to drive antitumor functions for the purpose of developing immunotherapies, during two rounds of judging at the Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair and was then selected as a finalist out of 76 participants. In addition, Kaitlyn also received the 1st place award in her category of Health & Medicine and the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Biology Award at the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair (NEOSEF). Kaitlyn also won the Cleveland Clinic Award at the Bridging Engineering, Science and Technology (BEST) Medicine Engineering Fair. She will also be participating at the State Science Fair later this year after she qualified at Districts.
