• Q. What ages can enroll at Laurel’s Early Childhood?

  We offer tailored environments for children at various developmental stages. Age requirements are based on the start of the school year:
  

  • Early Learners: Age 18 months+
  • Preschool: Age 3 years+
  • Prekindergarten: Age 4 years+
  • Outdoor Prekindergarten: Age 4 years+

• Q. Does Laurel offer half-day or full-day schedules?

  Yes! We offer flexible scheduling to meet your family's needs.
  

  • Arrival begins at 8:00 am
  • Half-Day: 8:30 am–11:30 am
  • Full-Day: 8:30 am–3:00 pm

  Extended Care: We also provide before- and after-school programming for an additional fee.

  • Before-School: 7:30–8:00 am
  • After-School: 3:00–6:00 pm

• Q. How many days a week will my child attend?

  • Early Learners & Preschool: Choose between a 3-day (Tuesday–Thursday) or 5-day (Monday–Friday) schedule.
  • Prekindergarten & Outdoor Prekindergarten: These are 5-day (Monday–Friday) programs to help students prepare for the transition to Kindergarten.

• Q. Do Early Childhood classes run year-round?

  No. Laurel’s Early Childhood follows the standard Laurel School academic calendar, running from late August through late May.
  

  • We observe a two-week Winter Break and a two-week Spring Break.
  • For families seeking summer options, Laurel School offers Summer at Laurel– seven weeks of summer camps for children ages 24 months and up.

• Q. Are snacks and lunches provided?

  Yes. A healthy snack from two food groups is provided for all students each morning. A Laurel-provided lunch (which includes a hot entree plus fresh fruits and vegetables served family style in their classroom or in the Dining Room) is included in tuition and fees for children who stay for full days. Our food service partner, CulinArt, is able to accommodate many common restrictions, allergies and sensitivities.

• Q. Are there any co-curricular opportunities for children?

  Yes. All children participate in morning specials, including Library, Music and Movement, and Physical Education. Full-day Preschool and Prekindergarten students also participate in specials in the afternoon, including Music, Science, Art, S.T.E.A.M., and outdoor excursions to our Butler Campus.

• Q. Do the children have rest time?

  Yes. Children in our full-day program have an opportunity to rest after lunch. Early Learners typically nap for 1.5 – 2 hours per day. By Prekindergarten, many children simply have quiet time, possibly with a book or quiet activity.

• Q. Does my child need to be potty-trained?

  Yes. Preschool and Prekindergarten students must be potty-trained by the start of school.

• Q. What is the annual tuition to attend Laurel’s Early Childhood School?

  Tuition ranges from $10,725-$25,875 relative to age, program, number of days, and half- or full-day attendance. See Tuition & Affordability.
