At Laurel School, service is one of the transformative ways that girls live our mission: to inspire each girl to fulfill her promise and to better the World. Our Kindergarten–Grade 12 service learning program is designed to empower Laurel girls to connect deeply with their communities, act with compassion, and develop the leadership skills to create meaningful change.
Beginning in the youngest grades, students explore age-appropriate ways to care for others, the environment, and the broader community. As they grow, these experiences expand into hands-on projects, partnerships with local organizations, and leadership opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world impact. By Upper School, Laurel girls take on at least 50 hours of service and advocacy that meets an authentic need in Northeast Ohio or beyond—designing and leading or joining initiatives that address social, environmental, and global challenges.
Whether on campus, across Greater Cleveland, or in partnership with communities around the world, Laurel girls discover that service is not only about giving—it is about learning, collaborating, and building a better future together as leaders.
