The Alice Lehman Butler '49 Center for Fitness and Wellness is the exercise, strength and conditioning home of Laurel’s Gators. It is open to all students, faculty and staff. Memberships and personal training are available for the Laurel Community.
**If you do not reserve a spot via the Signup Genius or fail to complete the Self Screen for Athletic Participation Google Form, you will not be allowed to workout.**
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Protocols:
Drop off for the fitness center will be in front of the Butler Fitness Center.
Once student athletes are dropped off, cars must leave the circle area. If you plan to wait at Butler while your student athlete completes her training session, please park in the parking lot across from the tennis courts.
There is no parking allowed in the circle by the fitness center at any time.
Individuals must sign-in before each training session.
Athletes should walk to the parking lot after a workout to meet their ride for pick up.
Athletes who are attending a strength-training session should enter the fitness center from the patio door.
Once finished with the strength training session, athletes will proceed to classroom space at the end of the main hallway to do core work and stretching.
Once core/stretching is completed, leave the building through classroom doors to the patio.
Rules and Requirements:
Hand hygiene is a must. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the fitness center and sinks and soap are available in the bathrooms. Athletes MUST wash/sanitize hands before and after each workout.
Athletes must thoroughly clean equipment after they are finished using it. There will be cleaning spray, paper towels and directions for use placed throughout the fitness center.
Athletes must bring a mask in for use in common areas, athletes are NOT required to wear a mask while working out, but may do so if they wish.
No locker rooms will be open. Athletes must bring a sling bag or similar to carry all of their belongings. Sling bags will be stored on the benches in the hallway.
Benches will be wiped down after each training group leaves the area.
Every athlete must bring her own water bottle. There will be NO SHARING of water bottles. Water fountains and water coolers will not be accessible. Evaluate how much water you normally drink in a training session and bring the appropriate amount of water to your session. If it is a hot/humid day, please pack an additional bottle of water than what you would normally bring.
Bathrooms are to be used by a single athlete at a time. Bathrooms will be cleaned routinely every two hours.
No extra individuals will be in attendance inside the fitness center or any training facility.
Parents/guardians can wait in cars during this time or use the outdoor spaces at Butler.
Parents/guardians remaining at the Butler Campus should not congregate and must maintain six-foot social distancing practices.
Parents/guardians must wear face masks if they need to come inside the Butler Center for any reason.

Laurel reserves the right to change the daily schedule or close the fitness center as needed for school use or inclement weather
