Hillary Teague Discusses Importance of Extracurriculars in High School
Hillary Teague, Associate Director of College Guidance for Laurel, was included in a Cleveland Jewish News story about the importance of extracurricular activities, and how they help create a sense of belonging, support personal growth, and the college admissions process for students.
Ms. Teague said students at Laurel are told to view extracurricular activities as a vehicle for personal growth essential to success at the collegiate level. “Involvement in team or community-based activities provides invaluable opportunities for personal growth,” she said. “Students learn vital time management skills and while parents may want to steer the schedule, students must take the wheel.”
