Rida Tahir '27 Wins 1st Place at CWRU’s Community Engaged Cancer Research Program

Congratulations to Rida Tahir '27, whose research project, titled “Beyond Active Treatment: Cultural, Socioeconomic, and Psychosocial Barriers to Cancer Survivorship Plans”, was awarded 1st place at the recent Case Western Reserve University Community Engaged Cancer Research Program (CECRP).
 
Rida worked alongside a group of students on a community-engaged research project focused on cancer disparities as part of CECRP, a highly selective program that focuses on involving youth in cancer research, health promotion, and community outreach.

Rida also earned an Honorable Mention for her project, titled "Generation of LSD2 o/e ESC system for EB Differentiation", in the Health/Medicine category at the BEST Medicine Science and Engineering Fair at Cleveland State. 
 
The BEST Medicine (Bridging Engineering, Science, and Technology) fair is Northeast Ohio’s premier engineering fair, devoted exclusively to students interested in exploring biomedical or environmental engineering. It brings together the most talented and innovative students to interact with each other and with leaders in medical device research and development.
