Claire Leland ‘26 Featured in Scholastic Magazine “Choices”

Claire Leland '26 was featured in the March issue of Choices, a Scholastics Magazine. She spoke about living with celiac disease as part of a story featuring three students who live with autoimmune diseases.
Claire has been living with celiac disease since the age of 3. The only way to treat her symptoms, which include stomach pain, headaches, and exhaustion, is to eat gluten-free food.

In the piece, Claire details how she launched the Celiac Support Collective through her Laurel Capstone project to help bring gluten-free foods to food pantries so others who are suffering can have more access to the right foods to treat their illness. She said, “I have been raising money and addressing the lack of education surrounding celiac disease.”
