Laurel Students Shine at Northeast Ohio Youth Climate Summit
Laurel helped welcome more than 500 students from 25+ schools across Northeast Ohio who gathered at the Huntington Convention Center on March 12 for the Northeast Ohio Youth Climate Summit. Signal Cleveland, The Lakewood Observer, and TV20 News highlighted the Summit and Laurel student involvement.
Special thanks to the lead planners, Jannah Kazmi '26, Hannah Rosenfeld '27, and Asalé Jones '26, who helped organize the summit, facilitated the keynote conversation, and led sessions. Hannah also coordinated the 25 partner organizations featured at the Opportunities Fair.
Laurel’s LEAF Club members presented 7 of the 16 sessions, with incredible contributions from Mack Gilbert '27, Casey Higgins '27, Maisie McKenna '29, Chloe Ng '28, Ana Rubio-Calvillo '27, Katie Spellacy '28, Yamini Sridhar '28, Cece Snyder '27, Kaisa Strautnieks '26, Esther Tan '28, Sofia Teresinski '29, and Claire Witalec '28.
