Three Laurel Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

We are thrilled to celebrate Emma Batt ’27, Emma Stein Maneiro ’27, and Rida Tahir ’27, who have been named National Merit Semifinalists in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program!

This prestigious distinction recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, placing Emma, Emma, and Rida among the top 1% of high school seniors nationwide. Semifinalists represent the highest-scoring students on the PSAT/NMSQT in each state and are among the most accomplished students in the country.

This recognition is an exciting first step in the National Merit Scholarship competition as Emma, Emma and Rida now have the opportunity to compete for nearly $26 million in National Merit Scholarships, with scholarship recipients to be announced next spring.

We are incredibly proud of these three Laurel students and the dedication, curiosity, and hard work that made this achievement possible.
