Julie Donahue '79
Director of Alumnae and Community Engagement
Advancement Leadership Team
Ms. Donahue, an alumna from the Class of 1979, joined Laurel as Director of Communications in 1996, just in time to help implement plans for the School’s Centennial Celebration. In 2004, she became the Director of Alumnae, working closely with the Alumnae Board on engaging and fostering connections with the 4,000+ members of the Laurel School Alumnae Association. She particularly enjoys connecting Laurel students and young alums with older alumnae mentors and helping older classes reconnect through virtual platforms. Among her favorite Laurel traditions are Song Contest and Sarah Lyman Day of Community Service.
Ms. Donahue has a bachelor’s degree in history from Wellesley College. Before she came back to work at Lyman Circle, she wrote on-air promotions at WOIO-TV and then wrote and produced local and national radio commercials for an advertising agency specializing in broadcast promotion. She has served on several Boards, including The Center for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, The Junior League of Cleveland, Inc., and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Cleveland Chapter.
