Laurel School Named #1 All-Girls School in Ohio by Niche for Second Consecutive Year

Niche’s rankings are based on an analysis of factors including academic performance, extracurricular opportunities, data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, and reviews and survey responses from students, alumnae and parents.

“We are incredibly proud to see Laurel recognized once again as the #1 all-girls school in Ohio, and especially honored to also be named the #1 K-12 private school and #1 high school for STEM in the state,” said Christina Breen, Head of School. “Our Collegiate Connections program is just one of many examples that speaks to why we received this incredible recognition.”

As part of Laurel Leads: Collegiate Connections, Laurel is the first school in Ohio to participate in Stanford University’s Stan-X program, which brings authentic genetics research into the classroom, where students conduct experiments and generate data that may contribute to ongoing scientific research. Julie Topping, Chair of Science for Grades 6-12 and Director of STEM Engagement, completed specialized training with Stanford and will teach Laurel’s Advanced Topics in Science: Research in Molecular Genetics course for students in Grades 11 and 12 this Spring.

To earn this recognition for the second consecutive year is a wonderful affirmation of our exceptional faculty and ambitious students,” continued Ms. Breen.
