Daniel McGee

Curriculum & Program Leadership Team
As Chief Technology Officer at Laurel School since 2012, Dan McGee leads the Technology and Library teams, overseeing educational and information technology as well as libraries. He is deeply involved in Laurel’s academic and operational life, serving on the Head's Leadership Team, professional development, and audit and risk management committees. He also leads the school's AI committee and teaches AP Computer Science. Mr. McGee is a proud parent of two boys who attended Laurel's Early Childhood School.

Prior to joining Laurel, he was the Director of Technology at Our Lady of the Elms School from 2007 to 2012, where he was the recipient of The Hally Gearinger Robinson Endowed Elms Employee Award. He also has extensive experience as an instructor of German language, history, and culture at the secondary and post-secondary level.

A current member of the ATLIS Board of Directors and the Governance Committee, Mr. McGee is a recognized collaborator and contributor to the field of educational technology and independent schools. His published work has appeared in publications such as Education IT Reporter, eSchoolNews, and Access Points: The Journal of the Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools. He has also been featured in Cleveland Magazine and Cleveland Jewish News.

Mr. McGee holds an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from the University of Akron, an M.A. in German Studies from the University of Cincinnati (where he was a Max Kade Fellow), and an Honors B.A. in K-12 Education and German from the University of Mount Union. He also holds the Technology Leader in Independent Schools (TLIS) certification from ATLIS and the Ohio K-12 Computer Technology Facilitation Endorsement. His interest in technology began with his father's Radio Shack TRS80 computer.
