“Marti Hardy Day” Featured on Channel 5

On April 29, we celebrated a true Laurel legend! In honor of her 45 years of service, we surprised our beloved Señora Hardy with a special assembly where Shaker Heights Mayor David E. Weiss officially proclaimed April 29, 2026, as "Marti Hardy Day!" News Channel 5 was there to cover all the fun!
During a special assembly, Señora heard heartfelt tributes from Head of School Christina Breen, Athletic Director David Meyer, and students Brooke Barragate ’26, Cecilia Doherty ’26, Mia Kwon ’28, Isabella Wallerstein-King ’26, and Elizabeth Weingart ’26, each sharing the impact she’s had through Spanish, the golf team, and service learning. There was also touching video messages from Señora’s family and from alumna Jamie Taylor ’02, who helped launch Laurel’s golf program alongside her.

The celebration continued with a special lunch (featuring her famous carmelitas!) and plenty of love from the Laurel community.
