Three Laurel Musicians Represent Laurel at District 7 OMEA Solo & Ensemble

Sable Comet ‘27, August Sumlin ‘27, and Shaashwatiyaa Balamurugan ‘28 represented Laurel at the District 7 OMEA Solo & Ensemble at Madison High School, each performing a Class A solo, the highest level of difficulty for high school musicians. 
 
This event is a significant opportunity for young musicians to demonstrate dedication and artistry before qualified adjudicators. We’re proud to share that all three earned a Rating of I, the top score for outstanding musicianship!

  • August Sumlin '27 performed For You There Is No Song by H. Leslie Adams
  • Shaashwatiyaa Balamurugan '28 performed Meditation from Thaïs by Jules Massenet
