Abigail Steinberg Highlights Affordability in Cleveland Magazine Story
Abigail Steinberg, Director of Enrollment Management, spoke with Cleveland Magazine this month regarding the many options available to applicants of private schools to increase affordability.
With variable tuition and scholarship opportunities, Laurel works with families to help shoulder the financial burden. There are many variables Laurel looks at when determining variable tuition including family size, number of children attending tuition-charging schools, assets and liabilities not reflected in household income, college savings needs and basically what a family can afford while sustaining their current lifestyle. With this equation — along with tax documents — the school might cover $1,000 to 95% of total tuition.
Abigail also highlighted other ways in which families can save outside of variable tuition. “Laurel’s Dream. Dare. Do. merit scholarship is awarded annually and ranges from $5,000 to $20,000 per year, regardless of financial need. It is to reward girls coming into our Upper School with exceptional promise who have a lot to offer this community,” said Abigail.
She went on to highlight the five Sarah Lyman Scholarships that cover full tuition and fees for the four years of Upper School at Laurel, regardless of financial need. These combined with a smattering of other grants provide a great deal of financial support to any interested families looking at Laurel for their daughter. Click here to read more.
