Laurel Middle and Upper School Students Celebrate WNBA Coming to Cleveland

The “Together Starts Now” campaign is officially in motion — building the buzz for Cleveland’s new WNBA expansion team, hitting the court in 2028! From meeting inspiring speakers to getting hyped for what’s ahead, our students had an unforgettable experience celebrating this milestone moment for women in sports and women's sports in CLE!

Thank you to Dr. Cheryl Johnson '95 (member of the Laurel Alumnae Board) and her husband, Ron Johnson (parents to Chloe Johnson '26), for helping bring this opportunity to Laurel. Board member Lynnette Jackson Crenshaw '93, a huge Gators basketball fan, was also instrumental in helping to coordinate the details behind the scenes for this experience.
