Ann V. Klotz Named Notable Women in Education by Crain’s Cleveland Business

Her nomination reads, “Every program Ann Klotz develops for Laurel School, a private all-girls K-12 school, embodies her dedication to knowing how girls learn, think and feel. She understands that a rich curriculum addresses not just their academic needs but their social and emotional well-being as well.”

 

Besides innovative coursework, Klotz founded Laurel’s Center for Research on Girls, which integrates research on how girls learn and grow into each student’s education. Curriculum reflects research on the power of growth mindset, the importance of educating girls about stereotype threats and proven approaches for engaging and retaining girls in STEM fields.
