Environmental Justice Application

The Environmental Justice Semester at Laurel is a semester-long, academic program open to Tenth and Eleventh grade girls from any public, private, parochial or charter school in Northeast Ohio.

Laurel School accepts applications for the Environmental Justice Semester throughout the year. The below checklist outlines the application requirements. All items must be completed before the Admissions Committee will review your application.

    Admission application and Variable Tuition application deadline
  • February 9, 2024

    Notification of Admission and Variable Tuition
  • February 29, 2024

    Response due to the School
  • After February 29, 2024

    Rolling admissions as space allows for all grades

Environmental Justice Application Checklist

  • The Application Process Includes:

    • Complete an online application, which includes a student and parent/guardian questionnaire
    • Butler Campus visit (required for students; optional but highly encouraged for parents). Find out how to Shadow a Changemaker and/or attend an event on our Visiting Laurel page.
    • Teacher evaluation to be completed by a math teacher 
    • Teacher evaluation to be completed by an English teacher
    • Records from candidate’s current school including a transcript of current and past grades, credits and all standardized testing results.

    Butler Campus Open House

    Laurel has a two-campus advantage! Our 150-acre Butler Campus is utilized by every grade at Laurel. Connect with members of the Laurel community as you tour Laurel School's Butler Campus, home to Grades 3-5, Outdoor Prekindergarten and our Environmental Justice Semester, which enrolls girls in Grades 10 and 11 from schools across Northeast Ohio. Come visit our state-of-the-art athletic facilities, including the 16,000-square-foot Alice Lehmann Butler Center for Fitness and Wellness.
