Laurel School awards up to FIVE fully-funded scholarships annually to rising Ninth Grade students with exceptional promise.

Sarah Lyman Scholarships cover all four years of tuition and fees in Laurel’s Upper School and are awarded regardless of financial need.

Consideration for a Sarah Lyman Scholarship is highly selective. To be considered for a Sarah Lyman Scholarship, candidates must complete and submit all paperwork associated with Laurel School’s admission process by January 22, 2024.

Students in Grade 8 must take the Independent School Entrance Exam and receive stanines of all 5s and higher in order to apply to be a Sarah Lyman Scholar; qualifying students will be notified and invited to write a scholarship essay and attend an in-person interview at Laurel School the week of January 22, 2024 with a member of the Scholarship Selection Committee.

Candidates considered for a Sarah Lyman Scholarship will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee; those not selected will be considered for other merit scholarships.  All merit scholarship award winners will be notified on Friday, February 9, 2024 and families will need to accept awards by Thursday, February 29, 2024.
