Kaitlyn Ernst '24 Featured in Chagrin Valley Times for Speech and Debate Success

On March 23, the Chagrin Valley Times featured Kaitlyn Ernst '24 and her impressive Speech and Debate accolades.
Kaitlyn is a National Qualifier with an undefeated tournament record and is now preparing for the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Phoenix this June. In the story, Kaitlyn discusses her path to Speech and Debate success, starting with Model UN in Middle School and then moving to Speech and Debate as a Ninth Grader. She claims she was not a natural from the start. She says, "I had motivation to do well, and we had a lot of senior members of the team who were able to guide me in that process." Despite a very steep learning curve with Lincoln-Douglas, she has excelled.

Laurel's Speech and Debate coach, Rachel Rothschild, is also included in the feature where she says Kaitlyn "Is constantly available to help others with their cases and do that back and forth. She is definitely one of the mentors in the upper class who helps facilitate the transition for the young kids, helping them learn the ropes."
