Art Teacher Darius Steward Featured on Fox 8 News

titled Currents & Constellations: Black Art in Focus, where Darius' work is featured.

 

The story focuses on how Black artists have been excluded from art exhibits in the past and Darius focuses on how Black artists are being recognized more in exhibits like this one. “It is really meant to be an exploration of ideas and concepts that Black artists have been thinking through, grappling with, expressing over time,” said Key Jo Lee, Director of Academic Affairs and Associate Curator of Special Projects at the museum. 

 

Currents and Constellations will help illuminate the work of Black artists. Darius states that "it is about pushing the narrative forward beyond what is trendy to what is real." The exhibition will be on showcase through late June.
